Visit of the grain silo manufacturer CHIEF in the USA

Even this year there was a traditional thematic tour which our company FARMIX a.s. organizes for our customers.

We started our sightseeing tour with a three-day stay in the most populous metropolis of the United States of America, New York City.
Few cities around the world are as dazzling as New York. It is not only a world trade center, home to a number of well-known companies, but also a major center of art, fashion, culture and sports. Throughout the year, various exhibitions, concerts and street festivals take place here almost non-stop, and the city has earned the nickname “a city that never sleeps” for its bustling even at night.

Manhattan, the commercial and cultural center of this nearly 9 million megapolis, is famous for its breathtaking panorama of skyscrapers, many of which are among the oldest in the world. Perhaps all the tallest skyscrapers have set up observation terraces and rooftop restaurants, from where it is best to see the peninsula from a height. This time we chose Top of the Rock on the roof of Rockefeller Center near Central Park.

Manhattan lies between the Hudson River, Harlem and East River, across which it is connected to the mainland by several massive bridges, the most famous of which is the Brooklyn Bridge.

We had the opportunity to see it up close on our private sailing trip. We started the cruise in New York’s the NYC Harbor, then sailed just past the adjacent islands of Ellis Island, Governors Island and also around the island of Liberty, where the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of New York City, rises to a height of 46 meters. since 1876. On our way back to Manhattan, we marveled at the bright lights of this amazing city.

However, the main goal of our trip was, as every year, agricultural technology, so the stop in New York was followed by a visit to the largest and also the oldest exhibition of agricultural technology in the USA on the shores of the lake of the same name. The focus of the visitors of the exhibition this year were also live demonstrations of the corn harvest and the discussed topic of grain storage, where we were interested in new models of AGI silo constructions.

From the FARM PROGRESS SHOW, we then flew a private jet from CHIEF to its headquarters, Kearney, Nebraska, to take an excursion to CHIEF factories, in which we were guided directly by the company’s leaders through the demanding process of grain bins production. It was not a coincidence we’ve visited CHIEF factory, becouse we are starting to supply its products to our Czech and EU customers.
